Doulas support pregnant people and their partners. A partner may be a spouse, a friend or a family member.
Birth can be physically and emotionally exhausting for a partner as it is a transformative event. The nurturing and care provided by a doula offers the partner strength to best support the labouring person.
Partners benefit from the assistance of a doula to guide them through the multiple roles of educator, decision maker, advocator and supporter. Without a doula a partner can easily feel that they are alone in an alien environment.
I am a trained professional who has the education and the experience to not only recognize and support individual circumstances but to honour the unique role a partner plays in the birth of a child.
We support as a team, collaborating together to bring support and gentle guidance to everyone involved.
I will never replace you as a partner. I will simply enhance your experience as I help you to provide the best support possible for your loved one.
